Original Oil Paintings

Intimidated by oils, Shireen didn't use them in her art until 2011 when she created her first oil painting. Ever since then, oil paint has been her medium of choice. She prefers oils over acrylics or any other type of paint because of the creamy texture and slower drying time. These characteristics allow her to manipulate the paint to achieve her signature chiaroscuro effect which gives the objects she paints an immersive 3D effect. This collection showcases her work in oils and the variety of textures and subject matter she is able to render with her meticulous painting technique.
